Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola will sign a seven-year, $172 million contract to stay in Philadelphia, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported on Sunday.
The deal is just pending a physical to be made official.
Nola has spent his entire MLB career with the Phillies thus far, and now he plans to be there for the foreseeable future. There were rumors that Nola could land somewhere else, such as the Braves.
The right-hand pitcher posted a 12–9 record with a 4.46 ERA in his 32 starts. He pitched four games in the Phillies’ postseason run to the National League Championship Series, going 3–1 in that span.
In nine seasons thus far, Nola holds a 90–71 record with a 3.72 ERA.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
