Job Title: Human Resource Assistant Clerical

Basic Scope/Purpose

Job Functions

· Assist in reviewing applications for potential work availability


· Calls potential applicants as needed for job or employment responsibilities

· Assist in running required background checks for all potential employees

· Assist in ensuring all preliminary information, application, background check is complete prior to setting up orientation.

· Assist in ensuring all pre-employment documents are received and pre-employment drug screens are conducted

· Welcomes new employees to the organization as they enter the Human Resource Department


· Assist as needed in explains and covers expectations, procedures, and policy for employee(s) during orientation

· Assist in ensuring all employees completely fill out the required paperwork during orientation

· Ensures all post-employment forms are completed and filed on each employee

· Assist in transferring all the appropriate information for new employees is passed on to the manager of the account

· Assist in ensuring the employee has the appropriate job site information prior to reporting to the account


· Assists in inputting and maintaining employee information into the employee time keeping system and payroll system

· Ensures all employee files are current and up to date

· Ensuring all require documentation is placed in the employee personal file

· Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential.

· Maintains quality service by following organization standards, policies and procedures.


· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related goals and improvement of the company

· Participates, contributes and constantly works to improve the process and procedures of the Human Resource Department and ServiceMaster.

· Completes other duties as requested

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Characteristics

  • Highly developed teamwork skills.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Human Resources Operation
  • Strong and effective communicator verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to see the big picture, analytically think through a problem, and provides useful and strategic advice
  • Prior knowledge is helpful for recruiting and retaining employees
  • Knowledge of effective hiring practices and laws
  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning is beneficial

· Must be able to plan, schedule, and manage multiple job tasks and responsibilities

· Must have a good driving record.


· Knowledge of Word, Excel, and ability to learn job related computer programs

Expected salary: $13 per hour

Location: Clinton, MS
