Hispanic Advocacy and Community Empowerment through Research (HACER) is the only advocacy-driven, Latino-specific research organization in the Upper Midwest. HACER has been working with the Latino community in MN and beyond, since 1988. Our mission is to engage Latino Minnesotans through research, evaluation, and community action to promote equitable representation at all levels of institutional decisions and policy change.To help us drive this mission, we are seeking a Director of Finance and Administration. We are seeking a professional who is responsible for the financial well-being of our organization. You will play a vital role in the decision-making process by providing financial analysis and guidance to upper management.Responsibilities for the Director of Finance and Administration role include:· Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth· Responsible for the financial management of each project HACER supports· Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management activities· Lead the preparation of financial statements and reports to stakeholders· Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to senior management· Oversee the development and implementation of internal controls, including drafting and maintaining administrative and financial policies· Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams on financial matters· Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations and ensure compliance· Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions and external partners· Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and systems· Supervision of the Accounting Manager and Administrative AssistantRequired qualifications for the Director of Finance and Administration role include:· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role· Spanish fluency would be preferred· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills· Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization· Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting· Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial management software· Excellent project management skills, strong attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to multitask· Concrete knowledge of current data-gathering techniques and technology· Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems independently and in a team· Successfully manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously· Able to resolve complex problems with minimal guidance· Adhere to the highest standards of ethics, integrity, professionalism, sensitivity, confidentiality

  • Ability to attend In-Person meetings at the St. Paul, MN office, at least twice a week
  • Ability to travel throughout Minnesota.
