Job description: THE POSITION

The Department of Revenue is seeking a motivated candidate to take on the role of Clerical Assistant 2! Provide clerical and typing support to employees in an Area Office of the Retailer Operations Division, Pennsylvania State Lottery, to ensure operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Strong organizational skills are exercised daily to answer and direct incoming calls to the proper personnel, maintain a variety of moderately complex files, and provide assistance to lottery retailers by applying extensive knowledge of lottery games, procedures, programs, and policies. You will perform data entry into the lottery system when new retailer applications, changes of ownership forms, name changes, upgrades, downgrades, internal and external moves, and changes of location forms are received from eligible businesses.

Professional communication is key to contact various individuals at lottery headquarters for clarification or to resolve questions from retailers and players, while keeping office personnel informed of such problems and how they are handled. You will process new license requests, claim forms, and bonus checks by completing appropriate logging and forwarding appropriate documentation. Additionally, you will gather sales information from District Lottery Representatives, sales plans, and other pertinent sources, to use in the creation of monthly and ad hoc reports using internal system and Excel to generate sales statistics and progress for the Area Manager’s review.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment.

Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh.

Telework schedule is intermittent based on operational need.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or

Graduation from high school; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.
