In Pokémon Go, Combee can be evolved into Vespiquen, but it has some requirements: Combee has to be female. In this article, we will take a closer look into how to evolve your Combees into Vespiquen.

Evolving Combee Into Vespiquen

It is only natural to find how to evolve a Pokemon into its next form when you catch a new one. Combee is a bee shaped like a honeycomb, which you can find buzzing around Pokemon Go. If you’ve recently caught this honeycomb-shaped Combee, here’s how you canevolve it into its final stage, Vespiquen.

Firstly, you can evolve only the female form of Combee in Pokemon Go. While it sounds like a task in itself, the evolution process is fairly simple and is not complicated like in the case of other ones like Inkay. The fact that only female Combee can be evolved is a fun little attention-to-detail by the devs as in real life, beehives typically have only one female queen bee.

Naturally the question you will have is how to identify between a male and a female Combee. The difference between a male and female Combee is subtle. The female one has a little triangle on its head and really have to look for it. After catching a Combee, you can go to your Pokemon list and click on its info to see the gender.

Interestingly, you will see a symbol near the name and HP of your Combee indicating whether it is male or female. If your Combee is male, you will not see any option to evolve it, but just Power Up. You can trade him for candies towards your evolution.

However, if you did capture a female Combee, you will directly see the “evolve” button and you can transform her into a Vespiquen. To do so, you will need 50 Combee Candy.

A general tip to remember is that if you’re having a hard time getting Combee candy, you should use Pinap Berries on every one you find. Or if you have caught a handful, transfer them during a Spotlight Hour, which has a double Candy transfer bonus.
