Sony has announced the LinkBuds Clip ($229.99), a new open-ear earbud that marks a significant design shift for the company. Moving away from the in-ear donut shape of previous models, the LinkBuds Clip adopts a U-shaped clip design similar to competitors like Bose and Shokz.
Key features include a claimed 9-hour battery life (37 hours with the case), IPX4 water resistance, and Bluetooth Multipoint support. Notable upgrades feature AI-powered noise reduction and a bone-conduction sensor designed to enhance call clarity in noisy environments. Future firmware updates will introduce adaptive volume control.
However, the earbuds lack several features found in the LinkBuds Open, such as LC3 codec support, Bluetooth Auracast, and wide-area tap controls. The charging case also does not support wireless charging. The LinkBuds Clip is available now in four colors.
