Spotify is developing a new feature called “Page Match,” allowing users to sync audiobooks with physical books. By scanning a page from a physical book using smartphone cameras and OCR technology, Spotify will locate the corresponding timestamp in the audiobook. The feature works in reverse, too, finding the physical page that matches the current audio playback.
Unlike Amazon’s Audible and Kindle sync, Spotify’s tool reportedly supports any physical book. There is currently no official release date for the feature
