On January 22, 2025, NASA observed its annual Day of Remembrance to honor the astronauts of Apollo 1 and the space shuttles Challenger and Columbia. Led by NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, the main event featured a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Ceremonies were also held at NASA centers nationwide—including Johnson, Kennedy, Ames, and Marshall—to commemorate those lost in the pursuit of space exploration. Additionally, special online tributes were made available to pay tribute to the agency’s fallen astronauts.
