Development continues on NASA’s Power and Propulsion Element (PPE), a crucial component of the Gateway lunar space station. Built by Lanteris Space Systems, this solar electric propulsion spacecraft successfully powered on last year, demonstrating its ability to generate 60 kilowatts of power for propulsion, communications, and attitude control. Teams are currently installing thrusters from L3Harris and Busek. Additionally, Gateway’s roll-out solar arrays are undergoing testing at Redwire. The PPE is managed by NASA’s Glenn Research Center and is key to future Artemis missions.
