Job description: THE POSITIONAre you interested in clerical work supporting a professional staff in processing cases that involve varied and complicated legal issues? Join the Unemployment Compensation (UC) Board of Review-Administration as a Clerical Assistant 3. With our team, you will provide the clerical support our department needs to adjudicate appeals regarding eligibility for unemployment compensation throughout the commonwealth.DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will have particular clerical responsibilities regarding both appeals from determinations issued by UC Service Centers as well as remands from the UC Board of Review. For each case, you will coordinate scheduling and assist in processing requests related to the hearings in accordance with applicable statute, regulations, and parameters. You will also review and analyze dockets to determine if they should be combined into one hearing, determine what evidence is appropriate for each appeal, and organize case files based on these standards and guidelines.Work also includes courteously handling all telephone, email, in person and other communication with parties outside of the hearing on behalf of the referee, as well as general office work including filing, transcription, and processing incoming and outgoing correspondence. You may also be responsible for ordering office supplies, distributing mail, and serving as timekeeper for the office.   • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Work hours are negotiable based on operational needs.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week after successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Williamsport.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
