Kais Khimji, a former partner at Sequoia Capital, has launched Blockit, an AI-powered scheduling company, raising a $5 million seed round led by Sequoia. Blockit aims to disrupt the scheduling market by using AI agents to autonomously negotiate meeting times via email or Slack, eliminating the back-and-forth common with link-based tools like Calendly.
Co-founded with John Hahn, the platform creates an “AI social network” that connects users’ calendars. The agents handle complex logistics by learning individual preferences—such as prioritizing meetings based on email tone or the urgency of one’s schedule. With over 200 companies already using the service, including a16z and Brex, the tool costs up to $5,000 annually for team licenses.
