Fresh off his fifth Oscar nomination for Best Actor in Blue Moon, Ethan Hawke spoke with Deadline about his upcoming projects and honoring Sundance founder Robert Redford.
He confirmed that Season 2 of his FX series, The Lowdown, will resume production in March. Hawke also discussed his new action film, The Weight, describing it as a character-driven project.
Paying tribute to Robert Redford, Hawke called the late festival founder a "North Star" who championed the environment and diverse voices.
Reflecting on his long collaboration with Blue Moon director Richard Linklater, Hawke described their 30-year partnership as a "magic trick." He noted that while Linklater is speaking on Sundance Labs, he will deliver a tribute to Redford the man.
Finally, Hawke, whose previous nominations were largely for Linklater films, expressed his ongoing ambition: "One lifetime is not enough."
