Joshua Doan has signed a seven-year, $48.65 million contract with the Buffalo Sabres. The 23-year-old forward has 35 points in 49 games this season after being acquired from the Utah Mammoth (formerly Arizona Coyotes) in a trade last June. Doan was set to become a restricted free agent after the season. Buffalo GM Jarmo Kekalainen praised Doan’s work ethic and skill, calling him a “core piece” for the team’s future. The Sabres are currently in playoff position for the first time since 2011.
