Digg, the website that popularized “upvoting,” is relaunching in a challenge to Reddit. Original founder Kevin Rose has teamed up with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian to revive the platform, now in public beta. The new Digg aims to build trust and combat AI bots with verification systems. It currently features 21 communities and an AI-generated news podcast. After a failed redesign led to its decline and sale years ago, this new iteration focuses on community-led curation, allowing users to sign up and create niche topics as the platform evolves.
