NASA is preparing to roll out its SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft for the Artemis II mission from the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Pad 39B at Kennedy Space Center. The milestone is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. EST on Saturday, Jan. 17, with the journey taking up to 12 hours.
This rollout is a key step toward the uncrewed test flight, which targets a launch window opening Feb. 6. A pre-rollout news conference and live coverage will be streamed. The mission will send astronauts to the Moon, laying the groundwork for future Mars exploration.
