The Carolina Hurricanes have acquired defenseman Kyle Masters and a 2026 fourth-round pick from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick.
Masters, 22, has three assists in 10 games this season with the ECHL’s Wichita Thunder. Originally drafted 118th overall by Minnesota in 2021, the 6’0” defenseman has recorded 35 points in 69 career ECHL games and six points in 35 AHL games with Iowa. The 2027 fifth-round pick traded by Carolina was originally Chicago’s and acquired by the Hurricanes during the 2025 NHL Draft.
