The Canadiens (26-14-7) are third in the Atlantic Division, facing a surging Sabres team. While three goalies isn’t ideal long-term, GM Kent Hughes says the starter will be determined by performance. Montembeault has excelled recently, but Dobes could be the odd man out, as the system previously hindered goalie development. Dobes stated he wants to keep winning to prove he belongs, leaving the final decision to management.
