The Montreal Canadiens have ended their three-goalie system by sending Jacob Fowler and Owen Beck down to the AHL’s Laval Rocket. Fowler, 21, struggled recently with a 4-4-2 record and an .857 save percentage in his last two starts. Samuel Montembeault, who has won three of his last four starts, appears set to take the lead role. General Manager Kent Hughes previously admitted the three-goalie setup was not ideal. Beck, who had one goal in 15 NHL games, also returns to Laval to play more minutes.
