Anthropic has launched “Claude for Healthcare,” a suite of tools for medical providers, payers, and patients. Following OpenAI’s recent announcement, Claude aims to differentiate itself by focusing on administrative efficiency alongside patient interaction.
While similar to ChatGPT Health in its ability to sync data from wearables without using it for training, Claude’s standout feature is its “connectors.” These give the AI access to complex databases (like CMS and PubMed) to automate insurance prior authorizations and generate reports. This functionality intends to reduce the administrative burden on clinicians. Both Anthropic and OpenAI acknowledge that while millions use AI for health queries, users should still rely on professionals for diagnosis and treatment.
