Sphere Entertainment plans to build a smaller-scale venue in the Washington D.C. metro area, specifically at National Harbor in Maryland. The new venue, created in partnership with the state of Maryland and Peterson Companies, will seat 6,000 people—significantly smaller than the 18,600-seat Las Vegas Sphere. While designed as a “smaller-scale” model, the D.C. area venue will feature Sphere’s trademark “Exosphere” exterior and the world’s highest-resolution LED screen interior.
