Scholastic is releasing two new paperback editions of Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping, in 2026. The trade paperback launches on August 4, followed by a movie tie-in edition on September 1. Both will be available in a new box set with the rest of the series.
The highly anticipated film adaptation arrives in theaters on November 20, starring Joseph Zada as a young Haymitch Abernathy and Whitney Peak, featuring a star-studded cast including Glenn Close and Ralph Fiennes. Having sold over 4.4 million copies since its 2025 release, the book continues the legacy of the blockbuster franchise.
