During a High Court privacy trial against Associated Newspapers, Elizabeth Hurley wept as she described a claim by her son’s father, Steve Bing, that she named their child Damian after the "devil" from the film The Omen. Hurley testified that this private comment, made to Elton John’s husband, David Furnish, must have been obtained via illegal bugging.
The model is one of six claimants, including Prince Harry and Sir Elton John, alleging unlawful information gathering by the Daily Mail. Hurley denied Associated’s claim that she was deployed on a "secret mission" to recruit a journalist for the case. She also admitted she was persuaded to join the lawsuit by Hugh Grant’s "puppy dog eyes." Associated denies wrongdoing.
