Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin has announced TeraWave, a new satellite internet network designed for enterprise, data center, and government customers. The system will eventually use 5,280 satellites in low-Earth orbit and 128 in medium-Earth orbit, with deployment starting in late 2027.
TeraWave boasts impressive speeds, with optical medium-Earth orbit satellites capable of reaching 6Tbps—far exceeding SpaceX’s Starlink. This move positions Blue Origin (along with Amazon’s consumer-focused Leo network) as a strong competitor to Starlink in the satellite internet market.
