Florida Panthers defenseman Seth Jones has been replaced on the US Olympic team by Anaheim Ducks defenseman Jackson LaCombe. Jones was moved to long-term injured reserve (LTIR) following an upper-body injury sustained during the Winter Classic on January 2, making his availability for the February 12 opener against Latvia uncertain.
LaCombe, 25, earned his roster spot with a breakout season, recording 43 points in his second campaign and averaging over 24 minutes of ice time. Fresh off winning a gold medal with Team USA at the World Championship, LaCombe adds size and puck-moving ability to a defensive roster that includes Quinn Hughes and Charlie McAvoy.
