Ford is recalling approximately 119,000 vehicles, including certain F-150 trucks and Expedition and Navigator SUVs, due to a defect in engine block heaters. The issue, which involves a short-circuit caused by water and contaminants entering the heater cable, significantly increases the risk of fire while the vehicle is parked or charging. Overheating could result in melted components or engine fires. Ford will notify owners to visit dealerships for necessary repairs. Owners are advised to check their vehicle identification numbers on Ford’s recall page or NHTSA’s website for details.
