Scientists have unveiled a detachable robotic hand that crawls across surfaces like a spider. Published in Nature Communications and led by researcher Xiao Gao, the bot modifies the design of a human hand by incorporating six fingers with bidirectional flexibility. This allows the unit to detach from its arm and move independently. The fingers can bend both forward and backward, enabling the robot to carry objects on its "back" or "belly" while using other fingers to grasp items simultaneously. While these innovations are designed for industrial applications, the technology hints at future possibilities for domestic assistance.
