European leaders from eight nations, including France and Germany, released a joint statement ahead of an EU ambassadors meeting. The statement follows remarks from French Agriculture Minister Annie Genevard regarding President Donald Trump’s threats to impose tariffs on European countries opposing his plans to acquire Greenland.
Genevard warned that the United States would also suffer from such an escalation, noting that Trump, American farmers, and industrialists “have a lot to lose” in a potential trade conflict.
