A library card application filled out by former James Bond star Sir Sean Connery has been discovered in Hull, dating back to the 1950s. The document, found by librarian Matt Soare in a local archive, reveals Connery applied for the card while performing in a touring show at the Hull New Theatre in 1959. The application includes a copy of his signature and notes a required deposit of £1. Records indicate Connery was in the city performing alongside Dame Sybil Thorndike in the play The Seashell, likely seeking books to pass the time between shows.
