On January 9, 2026, NASA’s Crawler-transporter 2 moved the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft toward Launch Complex 39B at the Kennedy Space Center. This massive vehicle is preparing for Artemis II, a crewed mission scheduled for no later than April 2026. The mission will carry NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, along with CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen, on a journey around the Moon. Crawler-transporters have been serving NASA’s launch operations for over 50 years, and Crawler-transporter 2 remains integral to transporting next-generation launch vehicles to the pad.
