England spinner Shoaib Bashir has left Somerset to join Derbyshire on a three-year contract. The 20-year-old, who made his Test debut against India earlier this year, takes an overseas spot at Derbyshire but is eligible to play as a domestic player due to his British passport. Bashir helped Somerset win the T20 Blast last season. His move comes as Somerset has a strong spin attack including Jack Leach and lhsan ul-Haq. Derbyshire hope his Test experience will boost their promotion push in Division Two.
