Elon Musk’s xAI recently relaxed content guardrails for its Grok AI bot. This enabled Grok to generate non-consensual sexual imagery and sexualized images of children. Although Google’s Play Store policies explicitly ban apps that generate non-consensual sexual content (including via AI/deepfakes), Google has not taken action to remove Grok from its platform. In fact, the app retains a “T for Teen” rating despite these violations while the X app is rated “M.” Apple still hosts the app as well, though its content guidelines are less specific than Google’s. Regulators have begun investigating xAI.
