Ursa Major Technologies, a rocket engine supplier, secured a $600 million valuation after a successful Series E funding round. They provide liquid-fueled rocket engines and solid rocket motors, aiming to offer propulsion systems faster and more affordably than traditional contractors, particularly for hypersonic and space-based defense. Customers include BAE Systems and Stratolaunch.
Meanwhile, Rocket Lab achieved two successful launches within 48 hours. One was a secretive commercial payload launch from New Zealand using the Electron rocket, and the other a suborbital mission from Virginia supporting hypersonic technology for defense agencies. This brings Rocket Lab’s successful Electron launches to a record 18 this year.
